True Poker Review
True Poker was the first online 3D poker room, released in 2000. Since True Poker is an older poker room, it has better traffic than some of the newer poker rooms.
However, the graphics and features don't quite match up with rooms such as PKR or Pokerwize.
TruePoker.com Summary
True Poker was the first online 3D poker room, and it continues to be a strong performing room. Although it doesn't have the advanced features and graphics of a room like PKR, True Poker can give the 3D poker experience to players who don't have fast computers, or who don't want any slow down of game play.
True Poker Software and Graphics
The software and graphics at True Poker are some of the smoothest of any of the 3D poker rooms. Since True Poker has been out for seven years now, they have the software running very smooth.
Although the True Poker software runs very well, it can't stand up to the graphics that rooms like PKR offer. There is only one available camera view, and you only can play in one environment.
TruePoker Deposit Bonus
The deposit bonus at True Poker is a match bonus of 100% up to $200. The bonus clears at a rate of $10 for 100 raked hands. If you play at limits of $1/$2 or higher, you'll have no problem clearing this bonus quickly. However, if you play limits like $.05/$.10, then you'll have a harder time clearing the bonus. Take a look at our True Poker Bonus Code page if you would like more bonus information.
Deposit & Withdrawal
True Poker offers many options for deposit and withdrawal, and even has easy options for US players to deposit and withdraw. Here are the options:
ePassporte, Instadebit, NETeller, MyCitadel, FirePay, Credit Cards, Click2Pay, Bank Draft, Check, or UseMyBank.
If you are a US player, you will most likely have to use Bank Draft or Check, but these options are processed virtually as quickly as the other options. Also, withdrawals are transferred very fast, and there have been no problems reported with True Poker's integrity.
Ease of Competition
Like almost all 3D poker rooms, True Poker has very easy competition. At the low limit tables, the viewed flop percentage is often over 50%. Although most of the traffic is at lower limit tables, you can still make a very nice profit at those tables because the play is so loose.
Another interesting point about True Poker's competition is the average pot size. At cash tables, the average pot size is usually 65x the big blind, which is astronomical. If you wait for premium hands, then play them aggressively, you'll have no trouble cleaning house at True Poker.
Features
True Poker offers many of the standard 3D poker features. You can choose between fifteen different avatars for your player, but besides that, there isn't any player customization. Also, there is only one available table view, and it is a first person view.
One great poker feature at True Poker is the availability of your statistics. In the True Poker lobby, you can click "Menu" then "Statistics" to view your personal stats. You can either choose long term or short term statistics, and the reports are very detailed and include how often you check, check-raise, call, bet, raise, re-raise, and fold.
Tournament Traffic
The tournament traffic at True Poker is large compared to other rooms. They have tournaments running every half hour with buy ins from $10 up to $50. Also, True Poker runs some interesting promotions.
They run many WSOP satellites, plus monthly $5,000 free rolls for the most loyal players on the site. If you choose to make True Poker your home, you will get many free rolls to keep you there.
Cash Table Traffic
The traffic at True Poker is slightly better then some of the other 3D poker rooms, but it is still slow compared to traditional 2D online rooms. Since True Poker recently added some micro limit tables, the traffic has increased, and there are always tables running no matter what time of the day.
The stakes at True Poker range from $.02/$.04 to $10/$20 in limit poker, and from $.02/$.04 to $5/$10 in no limit poker.
Customer Support
The support at True Poker isn't quite up to the standards of today's online poker rooms. They offer email support, live online chat, and a phone number, which isn't toll free.
Although they are usually fairly quick on responding via email, it'd be nice to see a toll free support number added.
